Meet Gemma
Firstly, Hi & Welcome to Your Therapy Space
I’m a Registered Counsellor with a background in mental health, healthcare, and community-based support. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults, offering both face-to-face and Telehealth sessions. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and compassionate, and I draw on both clinical training and real-life experience to support people through life’s ups and downs.
I use a range of evidence-based therapies in my work, including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy. I’m currently completing additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), which continue to shape and deepen my practice.
I take the time to really get to know each person and their story. Together, we work to set therapy goals that feel meaningful, achievable, and aligned with what matters most to them.
Alongside my counselling work, I bring experience from mental health support, youth services, aged care, and pharmacy. This background helps me build strong therapeutic relationships, work comfortably alongside other professionals, and support clients who may be navigating complex emotional, psychological, or life stressors. I practice ethically under the ACA Code of Ethics and aim to provide a safe, welcoming space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported to create positive change at their own pace.
