About Gemma

A bit more about me

My passion for helping others comes from lived experience. As a teen and young adult, I navigated anxiety, low self-worth, and feeling like I didn’t quite fit in. Through my own therapy journey, I found support, clarity, and a stronger sense of self.

Like many in their 20s, I’ve faced challenges around relationships, identity, and life direction. These experiences, alongside my training in Social Work and Counselling, shape the way I support clients—offering a space that is understanding, relatable, and grounded in both professional knowledge and real-life experience.

My Counselling style and Approaches

My counselling practice is grounded in a trauma-informed and holistic approach. Meaning I draw from a range of various interventions including client focused, mindfulness based, values and strengths, cognitive, nervous system education and psychoeducation. I focus and prioritise working at your pace, prioritising safety, connection, and meaningful change.

My approach is warm, gentle, down-to-earth and compassionate.

I draw on both clinical training and real-life lived experience to support people through life’s ups and downs.

During our work together, I implement the following interventions and frameworks.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Attachment Informed

  • Polyvagal Theory
