Walk and Talk Counselling - Sunshine Coast, QLD

Walk-and-talk counselling is therapy conducted while walking outdoors rather than sitting in an office. Sessions combine therapeutic conversation with gentle physical activity, often in a park, along a beach, or on quiet urban paths

Suitable for:

  • People who find traditional indoor therapy settings uncomfortable or intimidating

  • Those who feel more able to talk while moving

  • Clients who struggle with sensory overwhelm in closed spaces

  • People wanting a less formal, more embodied approach to therapy.

Walk-and-talk is not available for an initial session. Suitability will be discussed during an intake session and Gemma will determine appropriate fit and clinical compatibility based on individual needs and therapeutic goals.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (Coming Soon)

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often called "tapping", is a somatic‑based self‑regulation method combining gentle fingertip tapping on specific acupressure points with focused attention on thoughts, a feeling, memory or physical sensation. It draws from principles of exposure therapy, cognitive reappraisal and elements of acupressure.

EFT Tapping may be particularly beneficial for clients who:

  • Find it difficult to express emotions through traditional talk therapy alone

  • Appreciate practical, body-based coping strategies

  • Want techniques they can use independently between sessions

  • Experience heightened stress responses and would benefit from grounding and self-soothing tools
